Indian Education system emphasizes moral values, along with the development of basic student skills. In the 21st century, after the revolution of the new computer age, trained human resource has become very important. The university education system is entrusted with the important task of imparting this trained skill-based human resource to the society through education.
             Skill based education has been given more importance in the National Education Policy 2020. Encouraging inherent qualities of students Motivating them to think creatively Enhancing their skills Supplying skilled youth to the industry through Skilling ,Reskilling and Upskilling, Innovating with innovative thinking, Creating new entrepreneurs and bridging the gap between industry and academia .It is the most important objective behind skill based education.
                Punyashlok Ahilya Devi Holkar Solapur University Skill Development Centre has started 140 innovative certificate and diploma courses related to traditional, technical, business management, computer, agricultural field, para medical Arts and Fine Arts section through skill development center.The share of girls from rural areas is significant among the trainees who acquire skills from the center. Skill Development Center has connected many students who were away from the stream of education with education through this course. Boys and girls from rural and urban areas are eager to get skill based education and they have acquired skills through this course and got job ,self employment and employment.

       Skill based education has helped reduce the migration of students from rural areas like Solapur to the metropolis. Along with regular education, the opportunity of skill based education has been made available to the students by the university, the confidence of the students has increased and they have been able to face new challenges. These skilled youth will continue to strive to build a competent nation and the Skill Development Center will continue to make positive efforts for this
