In the year 2018, University conducted Acupressure & Therapeutic Nutrition workshops. Many students from different backgrounds participated in this workshop and they demanded starting full-time courses in the area of nutrition, dietetics & acupressure. Suggestions were sought from different university stakeholders like students, teachers, citizens, etc. for the Five Year Perspective Plan of the University for 2019-2024. Many stakeholders, including local professional medical bodies such as Indian Medical Association, Solapur Ophthalmological Society, etc., requested University to start different courses to cater to allied health human resources. The University Academic Council recommended establishing the school, and the Management Council passed the resolution for the same in 2018. Regarding this resolution, the university established the School of Allied Health Sciences.
