School of Physical Sciences under one umbrella has 04 Departments viz., Department of Physics (Applied Electronics), Department of Physics (Materials Science), Department of Physics (Condensed Matter Physics), Department of Physics (Energy Study) and Department of Electronic Science.
The two-year M. Sc. in Physics (Applied Electronics) Post Graduate Course was initiated in the year 1984 and M. Sc. in Physics (Materials Science) was initiated in the year 2009. M. Sc in Electronic Science Post Graduate Course was initiated from the year 1997. M. Sc. in Physics (Condensed Matter Physics) Post Graduate Course was initiated in the year 2019 and M. Sc. in Physics (Energy Studies) Post Graduate Course was initiated in the year 2021. The School offers a Ph.D. program in Physics and Electronics.
The School of Physical Sciences building is having a 11600 Sq. M. area and its construction cost is Rs. 1.85 Cr.
The School of Physical Sciences is committed to having the best infrastructure and facilities so as to ensure standards of excellence and supreme quality for the students. The School offers various facilities for imparting good quality higher education and steering advanced research areas: Energy storage devices, Semiconductor gas sensors, and Functional materials.
