The School of Life Sciences was initiated in June 2020, during COVID-19 pandemic lockdown period, at Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar (PAH) Solapur University campus.  The Department of Microbiology is the first department established under this School. The School of Life Sciences and Department of Microbiology was inaugurated at the hands of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor. This School runs M.Sc Microbiology two years programme. The Microbiology laboratory is well-equipped with many modern instruments.   The prime objective of the Master’s Program in Microbiology is to acquaint the students with knowledge and analytical skills in microbiological techniques in general and clinical or diagnostic skills in particular at an advanced level. So, students can contribute in diagnostic and awareness campaign in current COVID-19 pandemic. Students will be able to apply their knowledge and skills in fields including medical science, clinical and diagnostic microbiology, environmental biotechnology, food, dairy and agriculture microbiology, molecular biology, r-DNA technology and bioprocess or fermentation technology.
